The Stephane Ratel Organisation (SRO) has bolstered its media support of the Formula Renault 2.0 UK and AirAsia Clio Cup championships by a new deal with Talking Point Broadcasting which will see audio interviews and live content distributed across the UK’s public and independent radio stations throughout 2011.
Talking Point Broadcasting – who provide the same service to the headline British Touring Car Championship on the TOCA race package – will attend every race meeting to interview drivers and team members throughout the fields over the course of the race weekends.
“This is an illustration of how we are pushing to rejuvenate these two championships and gain maximum media coverage for all competitors,” says SRO General Manager, Lisa Crampton.
“Not only will sponsors benefit from the additional exposure this brings, but drivers who are hoping to progress onwards will get a good grounding in media interaction.”
Interviews recorded will be distributed directly to radio stations for broadcast and be available via the official Renault Sport UK website –www.renaultsport.co.uk. All interviews will also be available via the championship’s dedicated ‘iTunes’ pages and streamed from the Official BTCC website www.btcc.net.
“We have worked with these championship in the past and content from both proved highly popular,” says Talking Point Broadcasting director, Matthew Jones.
“It was a real blow when the service was dropped because of budget three years ago, so to be brought back even in the current difficult economic climate is a real endorsement of the intent of the SRO to promote and enhance these two fantastic series.”
The Formula Renault 2.0 UK and AirAsia Clio Cup championships start at Kent’s Brands Hatch circuit on the Indy configuration on April 2-3 as part of the opening round of the British Touring Car Championship.
